Getty Images’ Photographers Recognized at World Press Photo Awards

New York—April 13, 2018: Getty Images’ photographers have received top honors at World Press Photo, the world’s largest and most prestigious annual press photography contest with two individual awards, testament to the company’s extraordinary and diverse roster of photojournalism talent. The 2018 winners include:

– David Becker took first place in the Spot News/Stories category for his work capturing the mass shooting in Las Vegas.

– Kevin Frayer was awarded second place in the General News category for his work documenting the Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh.

The 2018 contest saw over 73,000 entries submitted by almost 5,000 photographers from 125 countries.

Ken Mainardis, Senior Vice President, Editorial, Getty Images, said, “Getty Images is incredibly proud of David Becker and Kevin Frayer for the work they have been honored with at World Press Photo.
